Sunday, February 15 Mad Beach Winter Bike Fest
The City of Madeira Beach and SIK Promotions, Inc. present the 1st in a series of 4 Mad Beach Bike Fests for 2015! Madeira Beach revs up for the Winter Bike Fest on Sunday, February 15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Madeira Way. Motorcycle enthusiasts will be showing off their classic, antique, new and customized motorcycles from all eras. Food vendors and others offering bike-related gear will be on hand.
A 10-class bike show judged by Full Throttle Magazine, with a fund-raising "People's Choice" trophy, will be held from 10 AM to 3 PM with registration running from 10 AM to 2 PM. Register in one class for $10 and increase your chance of winning by registering for additional classes for only 5 bucks each. Bike show awards will be presented at 3:15 PM and 12 awards will be given in the following categories: ladies, antique, bagger, trike, import, sport bike, paint, custom, chopper/bobber, anything goes, best of show and people’s choice. Try your luck at the 50/50 drawing, raffle prize drawing and at the live auction, which will take place at the main stage near the Old Oar House. Items to be auctioned are still coming in and will be on display during the show. Silent bids made throughout the day will determine the starting minimum bid for the live portion of the auction. Tickets will be pulled immediately following the bike show awards. Live music is planned all day from 10-4 PM.

Welcome to the 2nd annual "Iron and Clematis Vintage Motorcycle Show"! This year we are holding a pinup contest sponsored by Lugnut Customs Service Station & The Vintage Iron Club. The show will be held around 7pm after the bike awards. We will have our Lugnut Customs Ladies and CupCake Burlesque Ladies walking around the day of the show getting ladies to sign up for the contest:) They will be selling tickets for the raffle bike as well! The Cupcake Burlesque ladies will also be having a BURLESQUE show at Respectable Street Night Club at 9PM! Here are some basic rules and guidelines for the contest! First prize is CASH$$$$$!! 2nd and 3rd prizes are being given out as well. When I think "Pinup Girl" I think SEXY! So get out your corsets, thigh highs and the tallest heels you have ladies! Ride to Work Day was inspired by "Work to Ride - Ride to Work'" marketing materials created between 1989 and 1991 by the Aero Design and Manufacturing Company, a Minnesota based manufacturer of motorcycle riders clothing. In 1992 these items inspired motorcycle magazine editor Fred Rau to write an editorial calling for a national ride to work day.
The first annual Ride to Work Day event was proposed in Road Rider magazine (now titled Motorcycle Consumer News) in the May 1992 issue. This is an excerpt from that "Ride to Work" editorial: "You may remember several months ago when Bob Carpenter, commenting in his 'Two Up' column, mentioned how neat he thought it would be if there was one day a year when everyone who owned a motorcycle used it to ride to work. That comment was prompted by a T-shirt produced by Aerostich RiderWear that simply said, 'Work To Ride, Ride To Work.' Everyone seemed to think that a national 'Ride To Work' day was one heck of a good idea." Ride to Work is a 501 c4 nonprofit, all-volunteer effort.
